Joseph Chorbajian was born in Türkiye
He moved to the United States in 1917 at the age of 17 and founded the Hollywood Jewelry Manufacturing company in 1936. He later merged with his cousin Archie and his friend Jack Hazard's company and in 1948 opened Hollycraft at 902 Broadway NY.
The company continued to make jewelry until the late 1960s, but was sold entirely to another company in 1972.
