Accessories containing mustard seeds were first created during the Victorian era. It was originally used in a religious sense as a symbol of "faith and hope," sincerity, and hope, but it became popular again in the 1940s and 1950s as a "good luck motif." This is a vintage Coro brooch with a mustard seed inside a Lucite spherical motif. A very nice piece in art deco style.
